  • What is door-to-door service?

Door-to-door service means the car transport driver will get as close to your door as legally and safe as possible. Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from going into residential areas. Most of our transporters are huge and need a large area to turn around, so if access to your home is restricted by narrow streets, low-hanging trees, electrical lines, etc., the driver may ask you to meet the truck in a nearby parking lot where it is safe to load or unload. Please see Terms of Agreement for further explanation.

  • How does this whole process work?

    The process works like this:
    1. SUBMIT ORDER
Once you place your order and submit the needed information and deposit, transport of your vehicle will be scheduled as near as possible to the date you prescribe on the shipping order.

    2. ASSIGNMENT OF CARRIER
Once the carrier has been assigned, you will receive an e-mail advising you of the estimated date of pick up and delivery. You will then receive a call close to the time of pick up from the driver to schedule the exact pick up time and date.

    3. PICK UP
When the driver picks up your vehicle he/she will do a visual inspection of your vehicle on the bill of lading. You or your representative will both sign the bill of lading and you will receive a copy. The same bill of lading will be present on delivery so you or your representative can re-inspect the car.

    4. DELIVERY
The driver will also call in advance to schedule an approximate time/day for delivery. Any amount that was not paid at the initiation of the order is due and payable COD at this time. It's very unlikely that your car will sustain damage while being transported. In the unlikely event that damage should occur, please be sure to note it on the bill of lading and have the driver sign it. Damage claims cannot be processed by the driver’s insurance company if it is not noted on the Bill of Lading at time of delivery. Please see Terms of Agreement for further explanation

  • How will I be notified if a carrier is going to pick up my vehicle?

  • When will you pick up my vehicle?

Normally within 1– 5 days from when we receive your order, a carrier will be located and assigned to pick up your vehicle, but it can take up to 12 days for pick up during peak times. It all depends on truck availability and where the vehicle is picking up from or delivering to. There is no way to know in advance with precision exactly how long this will take. Pick up time may be longer in remote locations away from Interstate shipping lanes, during in climate weather and during the busy moving season (summer for coast to coast, fall for northeast to Florida, and spring for Florida to northeast -mid May to mid September). If you have time restrictions, we will do everything possible to pick up your vehicle on time. HAC, nor the carrier, can guarantee a pick up date.

  • When will you deliver my vehicle?

If the distance for transport is 1,000+ miles please allow 7 to 10 days for delivery. If the distance is less than 1,000 miles it can usually be within about 3 to 5 days. Normally your vehicle will be delivered within 1- 10 days depending upon route and location. The driver loads and unloads these vehicles as he travels across country. There are also federally mandated restrictions on the number of hours the driver may be on the road in a given time period. Once your car is picked up, it takes about 8 to 12 days to transport coast to coast, Washington and Oregon take about 10 to 14 days and between the northeast and Florida, it takes about 3-6 days. HAC, nor the carrier, can guarantee a delivery date.

  • Do I have to be present for pick up or delivery?

Yes, you or someone you designate needs to be present to review the inspection with the driver. Do not sign the inspection upon delivery until you are satisfied that the condition is the same on the receiving end. Once the receiving document is signed, it finalizes the delivery.
